With the introduction of Pinterest and other similarly styled sites, an eye-catching visual is a must for referral traffic. This was an article created and photographed by me to help food bloggers improve the success of their blog through better food photos.

Only a farmer's market-loving locavore can get excited over red onions. This blog post features a quick and easy pickling recipe. "We eat a lot of onions in this house, but these weren’t meant to be cheapened in a sauté pan or diced up into run-of-the-mill potato salad. These were meant to be on display." All photographs included are my own.

An interview with prize-winning freelance photojournalist Peter Essick, who has produced more than 40 stories for National Geographic magazine. He was also named one of the 40 most influential nature photographers in the world by Outdoor Photographer magazine. We talked about his book, Our Beautiful, Fragile World. It is my hope is that Mr. Essick’s work, packaged together in this way, will call attention to the vast impact humans have had on the environment and influence much-needed environmental change.

This is a technical review, written by me, right after the release of Adobe Photoshop Elements 12, the consumer sibling of Photoshop. In this article, I walked readers through the recent updates including narrative and screenshots.

Interview with a photographer from Sports Illustrated and his photos have appeared on over 100 covers. He is also an instructor, a mentor, and a Canon Explorer of Light. This interview came to be through a partnership with the mentor-ship program.

I had the honor of writing the foreword for outdoor photographer Dan Bailey's book titled Zen Photographer from two perspectives: an industry insider and photo enthusiast.

This is a review of a workshop I took at the end of 2013 taught by Tracy Clark. The class was inspired by her book, Elevate the Everyday, which was a project I acquired while at Focal Press (Elsevier). Tracy’s focus is not about going on a big trip to find photographic inspiration, but rather finding inspiration in your own seemingly mundane everyday life, which could perhaps be while sipping a cup of coffee or noticing something during your morning ritual.
