Interview with National Geographic Photographer: Peter Essick

An interview with prize-winning freelance photojournalist Peter Essick, who has produced more than 40 stories for National Geographic magazine. He was also named one of the 40 most influential nature photographers in the world by Outdoor Photographer magazine. We talked about his book, Our Beautiful, Fragile World. It is my hope is that Mr. Essick’s work, packaged together in this way, will call attention to the vast impact humans have had on the environment and influence much-needed environmental change.

Big Picture Classes Review: My Experience

This is a review of a workshop I took at the end of 2013 taught by Tracy Clark. The class was inspired by her book, Elevate the Everyday, which was a project I acquired while at Focal Press (Elsevier). Tracy’s focus is not about going on a big trip to find photographic inspiration, but rather finding inspiration in your own seemingly mundane everyday life, which could perhaps be while sipping a cup of coffee or noticing something during your morning ritual.
